An Unfolded East German Special Poster (measures 22 3/4" x 32" [58 x 81 cm]) (Learn More) Berlin '87, the 1987 East German poster celebration the 750th anniversary of the City of Berlin, and featuring Otto Kummert art of the city (including the Fernsehturm [the East Berlin TV Tower with it's revolving restaurant]). Berlin is the capital and the largest city of Germany, and was first documented in the 13th century. After World War II, the city was split into East Berlin (capital of East Germany) and West Berlin (capital of West Germany), and the Berlin Wall was constructed to physically divide the city. Following German reunification in 1990, Berlin once again became the capital of all of Germany. Note that this poster was likely sold in state-owned art galleries, often to tourists, and may have been marketed abroad as well. Artist: Otto Kummert Condition: very good to fine.
