Johnson was the 36th President of the United States of America from 1963 to 1969 after serving as the Vice-President of the U.S. from 1961 to 1963. He succeeded President John F. Kennedy on November 22, 1963 after Kennedy was assassinated in Dallas, Texas. He was re-elected in 1964, and could have run again in 1968, but opposition to the Vietnam war led him to decide to not run, and his Vice President Hubert Humphrey ran instead, and was defeated by Richard Nixon. Johnson passed away in 1973 at the age of 65. Important Added Info: Note that this photo has been personally autographed (signed) by Lyndon B. Johnson! It has a date stamp on the back of AUG 11 1964. We don't know if it was personally signed by Johnson, or if it is autopen. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Please do not bid unless you can accept the uncertainty as to how it was signed. Our consignor is a very longtime dealer/collector who acquired this signed item in the 1970s, and kept it in his collection until now, when he is selling parts of his collection. He does not have a certificate of authenticity, but we believe the signature to likely be authentic. As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction. On non-signed items, we give a "lifetime guarantee" on everything we auction, but on signed items, we give the above modified guarantee of 30 days after the auction closes.
