An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Campaign Book (measures 8 1/4" x 11 3/4" [21 x 30 cm]; 16 pages) (Learn More) UFA 1944-45, the 1944 German campaign book sent to theater owners to encourage them to show UFA movies. The book includes 16 pages with mostly one-page spreads on UFA's upcoming movies and stars. Some of the movies advertised include Veit Harlan's Kolberg (which was the very last propaganda movie produced by Herman Goebbels), Traumerei, and Jugend von heute, and some of the stars include: Kristina Soderbaum, Heinrich George, and Hilde Krahl. Note that this is the very first time we have ever seen campaign books from UFA from during World War II (we are also offering an incomplete campaign book from 1941/42). Surely, very few of these books were printed, and very few could have survived, thanks to the massive paper shortages in Germany at that time. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this campaign book is incomplete. The first page has the UFA logo and 17 movies listed, there are only 15 movies advertised on the following pages, so the final page with the last two movies is missing (which makes sense, because the first page is likely the title page, and the cover is missing, and likely the back cover had the two remaining movies. It seems likely that right at the end of World War II they would have made this simple version just solely showing the movies available, without anything elaborate, both because money was limited, and because paper was very scarce. Of course, we would love to have a complete example, but we have never seen one, and we don't know if it exists. Condition: fair. The cover is missing and also the page that advertised the last two movies (see above). There is also blue staining in the bottom right of the first page and a tiny blue stain at the top left of the last few pages, with a few penciled numbers in the background of some of the pages.
