'Francis' as long as you can LAUGH!"; "Adapted from the novel by David Stern"; "From the riotous book the G.I.'s loved 'Francis' by David Stern"; the first in this extremely popular series of silly comedies) starring Donald O'Connor, Patricia Medina, Zasu Pitts, Ray Collins, John McIntire, Tony Curtis, and Chill Wills (as the voice of Francis the Talking Mule), and Francis ("the TALKING Army MULE!"; "The old Army Mule who Talks!") NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that Universal was likely worried about how this strange comedy (with a talking mule) would go over with audiences, and one of the ways they promoted it was with these stills that showed images from past great war films that included comic sequences, including Shoulder Arms with Charlie Chaplin, The Big Parade, Buck Privates, and other classics. We have five of these stills in this auction (we have never seen even one of these before). Condition: good to very good. Learn More about condition grades
