Of love or joy or sorrow they drank the bitter lees, the servants of the oarlocks but the masters of the sea. You'll see them all in this wonder film."; "The greatest spectacle of amazing romance and adventure the screen has ever seen!"; based on the novel "by Rafael Sabatini") starring Milton Sills ("and an all star cast including"), Enid Bennett, Lloyd Hughes, Wallace Beery, Wallace MacDonald, Marc MacDermott and "thousands of people". Note that Warner Bros. re-used some of the footage from this movie in 1935's "Captain Blood", starring Errol Flynn (which was based on a different Sabatini novel). In 1940, Warner Bros. made a new version of "The Sea Hawk", again starring Errol Flynn, but for that movie, they threw out the original Sabatini novel altogether! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare poster. We have never auctioned this "red title style" version in all our years of auctioning, and the other "black title style" poster sold in 2015 for $245, and other than a few lobby and window cards and a still we have auctioned no other movie paper for the title whatsoever! It is one of a collection of 25 silent half-sheets we are currently auctioning, in 25 separate auctions. Most of these are beyond rare, and many are likely "one of a kind"! This poster was never folded and it is fragile enough that it absolutely should not be rolled or attempted to be rolled. Therefore, it needs to be sent in a very large flat package that measures approximately 24" x 30". Please bear this added shipping expense in mind before bidding on this poster. Condition: good. The poster was never folded. It had smudges, stains and tears around the edges with paper loss in the bottom left blank corner, in the center of the top blank border, and a few tiny area of paper loss in the rest of the blank borders. Someone put tape on the back of those tears. Learn More about condition grades
