An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Herald (measures 3 3/4" x 5 3/4" [10 x 15 cm] when folded; 4 pages) (Learn More) The Parasite, the 1925 Louis J. Gasnier silent romantic love triangle melodrama ("Beautiful, indolent, taking all giving nothing. They called her -- The Parasite"; an incredibly wacky story of a divorced man who hires a woman and her mother to take care of his sick boy; society thinks that she is a parasite on him; but then the boy's mother kidnaps him and the hired woman goes after her, and the mother crashes and she is killed, and her son is wounded, and the hired woman tries to get him back for help, but they get lost, and he is dying of hunger and thirst, and she cuts her arm and lets him drink her blood, which keeps him alive until they are both rescued!; when they say "they don't make them like they used to", this is the kind of movie they are referring to!) starring Owen Moore, Madge Bellamy, Bryant Washburn, Lilyan Tashman, Mary Carr, and Bruce Guerin. Note that Mary Carr became a major star in the mid 1910s around the age of 40, playing the parts of saintly mothers. She continued to make movies (switching to grandmother roles) through the mid 1930s, and then continued with mostly uncredited parts until the mid 1950s. She passed away in 1973 at the age of 99! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: This herald was folded in half at one time as was originally intended. Condition: very good. The herald was folded across the middle an extra time. The herald is otherwise in pretty nice condition and it displays well. Learn More about condition grades
