Date Sold 2/18/2021Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) The Primrose Path, the 1925 Harry O. Hoyt silent murder melodrama starring Clara Bow, Wallace MacDonald, Stuart Holmes, Arline Pretty, Tom Santschi, and Pat Moore. Note that Clara Bow was the most famous "flapper girl" of the mid to late 1920s (she became known as "The It Girl" after the character she played based on the popular novel by Elinor Glyn). She had a major role in Wings, and was Paramount's biggest star at that time. But she had a notorious private life and seemingly "settled down" when she married cowboy star Rex Bell in 1931 (she had two children and she retired from movies), but sadly in 1949 she went into a mental institution after a failed suicide attempt (she had had psychiatric issues for quite some time) and she was released but never returned to her family, and lived alone until her death in 1965. We have never auctioned even a single movie paper item from this movie until we received this lobby card! Also note that we have a scan of both the front and the back of this lobby card, which should greatly help you see what defects it has. What IS gelbacking? Learn More Condition: good to very good. The card had some stains and smudges scattered throughout, with some paper loss in the top left corner and some pinholes, tears, and small paper loss around the edges. Overall, the card was in good condition prior to restoration. A talented restorer gel backed the card (meaning they backed the card onto a gel material) and they then performed excellent restoration to the above defects, and then removed the gel backing, so that the card still exactly looks and feels like an original card (and it is!), with no backing at all. You can see slight signs of the restoration, but the card displays really well! Learn More about condition grades
