This email club started in August 1998, when I sent an email to around 40 collectors I knew (see that first historic club message here: https://www.emovieposter.com/club/returnmessage.php?id=1). I posted about it on several online forums, and by the third message it had 258 members!

At that time, I had not yet begun selling online at all! It would be almost a full year before I began listing items on eBay, and many of you will be surprised to know that at first I listed just as much on Amazon, which in 1999 was trying to compete with eBay on collectibles!

If you have never done so, I URGE all of you to go to https://www.emovieposter.com/club/archive.php and start reading over the first 960 club messages, ALL of which are archived at this page. I think you will be amazed at how much great content there is, on every subject imaginable, and reading through them also serves as a mini-history of the hobby over the past 20 years! NOW THAT OUR AUCTIONS ARE BI-WEEKLY, THESE CLUB EMAILS WILL BE BI-WEEKLY AS WELL, FOR TWO REASONS:

1) A big part of the shift from weekly auctions to bi-weekly ones is my desire to work less, and be able to take more trips and vacations. Only having to prepare a club message every other week rather than every week will help me do that!

2) After 960 near weekly messages, most of what could be discussed HAS been discussed. Rather than repeat the same information, I would much rather you find the answers for yourself by using the club archive page (or the search of the past messages) at https://www.emovieposter.com/club/archive.php!

So I WON'T be sending a club message next week (the 12th), but I will send one the week after, the 19th, just before the first of the new bi-weekly auctions end.
