He was born in 1889, and in the early 1920s he rose to prominence in silent movies, becoming a major star of the 1920s, while he was in his 30s. He won the Oscar for Best Actor as The Cisco Kid in "In Old Arizona" in 1929, and he remained a top star throughout the 1930s! Some of his other movies include: Arizona Kid (winner of the Best Actor Academy Award for this film), 42nd Street, West of Zanzibar, The Prisoner of Shark Island, Penthouse, and Slave Ship. He passed away in 1951 at the age of 62. Important Added Info: Note that this still is a key book still that measures 8" x 10 1/4", printed on a heavy paper, with two punch holes in the left. Many studios spent extra money to have their most special photos, the key book stills, either backed with linen or printed on a heavy paper, both of which enhanced their durability. They had punch holes, because of how they were stored. Key book stills are far more rare than regular stills, which has increased their popularity among collectors, since only a few keybooks were manufactured per film, and a key book still is guaranteed to be authentic.
