An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Insert Movie Poster (measures 14" x 36") (Learn More) The Curse of the Cat People, the 1944 Robert Wise & Gunter von Fritsch feline fantasy horror thriller ("Strange, Forbidding, Thrilling -"; "The black menace creeps again!"; "- Slinking into the heart of a little girl who could not see the evil behind the smiling lips that could snarl, and feline fingers that could rip young flesh to shreds!"; "The beast-woman strikes!"; "Sensational return of the Killer-Cat-Woman!"; "Ready to kiss or claw to shreds - the brooding beauty who changed into a killer-leopard!... Strange, weird thrills that you'll never forget!"; produced by Val Lewton) starring Simone Simon, Kent Smith, Jane Randolph, Ann Carter, Elizabeth Russell, Eve March, Julia Dean, Erford Gage, and Lancelot Victor Edward Pinard (billed as "Sir Lancelot"). Note that this movie has the same lead actors as "Cat People", but is in no way a sequel, but the studio insisted on making it sound like one, in order to try to trick people into thinking it was! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster has never been machine folded! Most insert posters were folded twice horizontally right off of the printing press. It is very difficult to find an unfolded example of most inserts, especially from before 1970! Condition: fair. The top left corner of the poster was cut off, and (in what truly must rank as VERY amateur restoration!) someone took a piece of another insert that in no way matches this one (not even where the edge of the border is), and taped it to the back of the poster! They very lightly drew in the letters that were missing ("STR", to complete the word "STRANGE"), and even that they did very half-heartedly. While this is of course a major defect, the rest of the poster has creases, tears, and smudges around the edges, and just a few creases and tears within the image, and any professional restorer could certainly replace the missing area at top left, and after proper restoration, the poster will look great, and there will be little restoration, except in the top left corner and around the edges of the poster.
