An Original Vintage Theatrical Deluxe Color-Glos 11" x 14" Movie Still (Learn More)

Gone with the Wind, the classic 1939 Victor Fleming (winner of the Best Director Academy Award for this film) Civil War era romantic melodrama epic ("The Greatest Motion Picture Ever Made!"; "In the New Screen splendor... The most magnificent picture ever!"; "David O. Selznick's production of Margaret Mitchell's story of the Old South"; "Screen play by Sidney Howard"; winner of the Best Picture Academy Award) starring Clark Gable (nominated for the Best Actor Academy Award for this film; "as Rhett Butler"), Vivien Leigh (winner of the Best Actress Academy Award for this film; "and presenting Vivien Leigh as Scarlett O'Hara"), Leslie Howard ("as Ashley Wilkes"), Olivia de Havilland (nominated for the Best Supporting Actress Academy Award for this film; "as Melanie"), Hattie McDaniel ("as Mammy"), Thomas Mitchell ("as Gerald O'Hara"), Butterfly McQueen (as Prissy), Ann Rutherford ("as Carreen O'Hara"), George Reeves (in his first credited movie role!), Victor Jory, Jane Darwell, Ward Bond, Ona Munson ("as Belle Watling"), Yakima Canutt, Harry Davenport ("as Dr. Meade"), Carroll Nye ("as Frank Kennedy"), Laura Hope Crews ("as Aunt Pittypat"), Alicia Rhett ("as India Wilkes"), Barbara O'Neil ("as Ellen O'Hara"), and Marcella Martin (as Cathleen Calvert)

Important Added Info: Note that this is NOT a regular lobby card from 1939, but it IS from 1939, and represents part of an amazing find. Apparently, sometime in the late 1930s, some of the studios experimented with an alternate kind of lobby card, which was called "color-glos" (and glos IS spelled with one "s"!). These were deluxe colored stills printed by a different method than regular stills (the colors are more vivid, kind of like the colors in a Technicolor movie). This color-glos still is extremely rare! I once auctioned the complete set of 8 from "Snow White", and I have seen five 8x10 sized color-glos stills from "The Wizard of Oz". A year and a half ago, we auctioned a complete set of the 8 color-glos 11x14s from this movie (as separate items), and the prices for those eight ranged from between $200 to $1525 for each! Our consignor has given us six duplicates that he had from that same find, and we are auctioning them now, as separate items. There are no more of these, so after these six are sold, there will be no more for sale, unless some of the original fourteen that were found are re-auctioned, or unless someone finds more of these color-glos stills!
NOTE: These color-glos stills do not have numbers on them, so we have arbitrarily assigned numbers to each individual color-glos still, so that there is a convenient way to tell different scenes apart.

Condition: fine. The still has the slightest of faint creases, which really are mostly only noticeable when it is tilted to the light. Note that this still is completely unrestored and has never had any restoration of any kind, nor has there been any tape on the front or back of the still. The back of the still is completely blank, with no writing or stamps.
