Date Sold 1/7/2020Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures 3 1/4" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) Der Magische Gurtel (released in the U.S. as "The Exploits of a German Submarine U-35"), the 1920 Hans Brennert German silent World War I (WWI) U-Boat ocean submarine military documentary ("An amazing pictorial record of Hun submarine warfare, taken from the deck of the U-35") featuring Lothar von Arnauld de la Periere (the German U-Boat commander, and the most successful submarine captain ever!) Important Added Info: Note that any movie paper from this documentary is incredibly rare. We have never auctioned anything from this movie until we received this glass slide! Also note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). This slide is the kind that has two panes of glass that are taped together with black tape around all four edges (front and back), typical of many older glass slides. We have provided a high quality scan of the image, but we have not taken a photo of the slide, because there would really be very little to see! Condition: very good.
