Original Vintage Theatrical Folded One-Sheet Movie Poster (27" x 41") (Learn More)

The Singing Cowgirl, the 1939 Samuel Diege female cowgirl cowboy western starring Dorothy Page, Dave 'Tex' O'Brien (billed as "David O'Brien"), Vince Barnett, Warner Richmond, and Dorothy Short. Dorothy Page had a very interesting background! She married a doctor in 1925 when she was 21, and in the early 1930s, they were struggling, and she auditioned for Paul Whiteman, and became a singer with his band. In 1935, she was signed by Universal and appeared in two movies, but they dropped her. In 1937, Grand National, which was on the verge of bankruptcy after their disastrous loss on Something to Sing About, signed her to become "The Singing Cowgirl", and they made four movies with her over two years, but those did not do well, and the series was killed. She had several marriages and personal misfortunes, and she passed away in 1961 at the age of 57.

Condition: very good. separation and tiny paper loss at the bottom crossfold (repaired with tape from the back that has been colored to match); separation and tiny tears along the bottom 10" of the vertical foldline as well as some separation at the top and middle crossfolds and at some of the ends of the foldlines (most repaired with tape from the back); smudges and minor creases throughout the poster (more so around the edges); small area of tattering in the lower left edge of the poster; a few pairs of staple holes around the edges of the poster
