An Autographed Color 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] REPRODUCTION Still (Learn More) Roman Polanski is a French-born Polish director from the 1950s to the present. Some of his movies include: The Pianist (winner of the Best Director Academy Award for this film), Chinatown, Rosemary's Baby, Frantic, The Fearless Vampire Killers, and Repulsion. He has acted in several of his movies, and he has unfortunately been in the news many times (and not for his movies!). His wife Sharon Tate was murdered by the Manson cult when she was 8 1/2 months pregnant with his child. In 1977, he raped a 13 year old girl, and absconded to Europe when he heard that the judge in his case was going to sentence him to 50 years in prison. Polanski hasn't been in the United States since. As of 2021, he is still alive at the age of 87. Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Roman Polanski! Also note that many celebrities kept multiple 8" x 10" copies of good publicity images of themselves to sign for fans, and also many memorabilia shops sold such copy stills themselves. While they are not original stills, they are usually excellent clear copies, with a great shot of that celebrity in their heyday, which, when signed by the celebrity, makes for a wonderful framed picture on any fan's wall! Note that our consignor tells us that this still is signed to Peter Bankers who worked in publicity at Paramount Pictures in New York City in the 1970s. Peter had Polanski sign it to him when Paramount released the film and he worked on it. Our consignor bought it directly from Peter Bankers. Condition: good to very good. There is a 1/2" tear in the center of the bottom border, but it is solely in the white background area. Learn More about condition grades
