An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 26 1/4" x 39 1/2" [67 x 100 cm]) (Learn More) SR-71 Blackbird, the 1989 Robert Mehnert military aircraft documentary ("To keep the peace they fly alone... unarmed... into the unknown"). The Lockheed SR-71 Blackbird is a long-range, high-speed reconnaissance aircraft that was operated by the U.S. Air Force from 1966 to 1999. It was developed as a secret project in the 1960s by Lockheed and its Skunk Works division. During aerial reconnaissance missions, the SR-71 operated at high speeds and altitudes to allow it to outrace threats (if a missile launch were detected, the standard evasive action was simply to accelerate and outfly the missile). The SR-71 was the world's fastest (2,193 mph) and highest-flying (85,069 feet) operational manned aircraft throughout its career.
