An Original 1958 (from the first release of this movie in Germany) Vintage German Film Program (measures 7 1/4" x 10 1/2" [18 x 27 cm]; 4 pages) (Learn More) L'Impero Del Sole (released in the U.S. as "Empire in the Sun"), the 1956 Enrico Gras & Mario Craveri Italian/French Peru musical documentary short (with music by Lavagnino) featuring Mathe Altery. Note that this movie is completely forgotten today, but it is very interesting, and SHOULD be remembered! It is a semi-documentary about the people of Peru following a young couple through their courtship, marriage, and birth of their baby, with a backdrop of Peruvian scenery and events, including a trip by train to the Amazon Jungle, to lake Titicaca, to the carnival, and also a bullfight. The musical score that runs throughout the documentary is by Lavagnino, who was a leading Italian composer for movie scores, doing over 200 of them, including many important movies. In 1957, this movie tied for first prize with "Nights of Cabiria" at the David di Donatello Italian film festival, showing how highly it was thought of at that time. The score of the movie has only recently been released, and hopefully the movie itself will get new recognition. Important Added Info: Note that this program contains unclothed women, so we have placed white bars over those areas, for those who are bothered by such images. Of course, the actual program does not have those white bars! Also note that we have provided an image of all the pages of this 4-page program (we did this by opening it and laying it flat and photographing the front and back cover together, and the interior two pages together). This way, you see the entire program, and can well determine the exact condition of it from our super-sized image. But of course this means that the front cover appears in the top right of our image, but normally, the program would be folded down the center and you would view the cover by itself (and it will be sent folded as was originally intended). Condition: very good. Learn More about condition grades
