An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" Movie Still (Learn More) Marlene Dietrich was a very popular German actress and singer from the 1920s through the 1950s! She started in German movies in the 1920s, and then got her big break in Josef von Sternberg's "The Blue Angel", which was made in both a German and an English version. That led to a series of wonderful movies with von Sternberg. Some of her other movies include: Destry Rides Again, Shanghai Express, The Scarlet Empress, A Foreign Affair, Morocco (nominated for the Best Actress Academy Award for this film), Blonde Venus, Touch of Evil, Witness for the Prosecution, and Judgment at Nuremberg. She passed away in 1992 at the age of 90. Important Added Info: Note that there is information about the still printed on the back. Note that there is a distribution date stamped on the back of the still ("7-24 '38"). NOTE THAT THE MOVIE "DISHONORED" CAME OUT IN 1931, BUT THIS STILL IS FROM 1937! IT SEEMS INCREDIBLY LIKELY THAT THIS STILL WAS MADE DURING THE RELEASE OF ONE OF THE TWO MOVIES DIETRICH MADE IN 1937 (either "Angel" or "Knight Without Armour") and that, as was common practice at the time, they made some stills that showed Dietrich in some of her earlier greatest roles (in this case, "Dishonored"). Note that the still code number in the bottom right of the still is the one from "Dishonored", as they likely simply re-printed an earlier "Dishonored" still as part of this still package. SO THIS IS A 1937 STILL, AND IT IS OF MARLENE DIETRICH IN "DISHONORED", BUT IT WAS RELEASED AS PART OF THE PUBLICITY FOR A DIFFERENT MOVIE! Condition: very good. Learn More about condition grades
