Date Sold 6/23/2020Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More) Jack and the Beanstalk, the 1952 Jean Yarbrough Abbott and Costello fairy tale fantasy slapstick comedy ("Be happy go wacky!"; "Jack-the-Giant-killer's a lady killer now!"; "Warner Bros.' Super-Hilarity Hit in Super Cine Color"; "Their first picture in color! The last word in laughs!"; "'The man sold me some phony beans!'"; VERY loosely based on the classic children's fairy tale) starring Bud Abbott, Lou Costello (in the title role as Jack), Buddy Baer (as the giant!), Dorothy Ford, Shaye Cogan, James Alexander, and Barbara Brown NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this poster has never been machine folded! Some pre-1970 half-sheet posters were machine folded twice horizontally at the poster exchange, while some were not. It can be difficult to find an unfolded example of many pre-1970 half-sheet posters (note that most post-1970 half-sheets were NOT machine folded, so they are pretty much only found unfolded, and therefore this does not apply to those half-sheets). Condition: poor to fair. The poster was never folded. Someone burned three cigarette holes in Lou Costello's face at right (in his eyes and mouth). The remaining portions of the poster are "all there" and it could be restored, but please see our super-sized image and bear in mind this significant defect prior to placing a bid.
