An Autographed Color 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] REPRODUCTION Still (Learn More)

Dorothy Lamour was born in Louisiana in 1914. She was Miss New Orleans at 16, and she became the vocalist in the Herbie Kaye band, and married the bandleader. She was spotted by Paramount Pictures, and after a few uncredited appearances, she starred in The Jungle Princess, where she wore a floral print wrap-around sarong, and she was a sensation. She made five more "sarong pictures" and she also starred in the "Road" movies opposite Bob Hope and Bing Crosby (sadly in the last of these she was dubbed too old, and she was cast aside for a younger sexy Joan Collins). She also made made other movies, but she will always be remembered as the sexy sarong girl! She passed away in 1996 at the age of 81.
Important Added Info: Note that this REPRODUCTION still has been personally autographed (signed) by Dorothy Lamour!

Note that in March of 2020, we auctioned 113 mostly repro 8x10 stils, which were consigned to us from a remarkable collection! Our consignor started collecting autographed photos in the very late 1960s and continued throughout the 1970s and 1980s, and stopped early in the 1990s. His father was the head of a major corporation that owned a movie studio, and naturally our consignor had a great interest in movies and TV, and he decided to collect signed photos, and he could afford to buy from the most reputable autograph dealers of that time, and he paid top dollar for what he wanted, to insure he was getting genuine signatures. Over the years he became a stage actor and director, and he continued his autograph collecting until the early 1990s, displaying his collection on his walls.

He sought out signed photos (often multi-signed) from many of the most iconic TV shows and movies of his time, and it is clear from looking at these 113 that he found many extremely desirable ones! None of them come with a "Certificate of Authenticity", because most dealers during those years did not issue them, and our consignor did not care about the few who did, and he discarded them when he framed the photos. However, because we know he bought from very reputable autograph dealers, who were extremely careful to only offer genuine ones, we think it is extremely likely the signatures on his photos are all authentic. Because this was a rare opportunity to acquire many wonderful (and iconic) signed photos, these 113 mostly repro stills auctioned in March for prices mostly between $20 and thousands of dollars (for the cast signed photos from classic TV shows). Now we are offering the final 14 signed mostly repro 8x10 stills from this same collection! Once these 14 are auctioned, there will be no more, so this is your final chance to purchase from this remarkable collection.

As is true of all the signed items we are currently auctioning, we give every buyer 30 days in which to review what they purchased and they can return any item as long as it is within 30 days of the end of the auction.

Condition: very good to fine.
