An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More) The Patient in Room Eighteen, the 1938 Bobby Connolly & Crane Wilbur medical hospital nurse doctor crime mystery comedy ("What hidden terror lies behind that door?"; "A laugh-packed romantic riot!"; "From a novel by Mignon G. Eberhart") starring Patric Knowles, Ann Sheridan, Eric Stanley, John Ridgely, Rosella Towne, and Jean Benedict. Note that Warner Bros. had signed Ann Sheridan to a contract the year before this movie, and because they paid her by the week, they put her in a huge number of movies they made at this time! But it wasn't until later this year, when she had an important role in "Angels with Dirty Faces" that she started to become a major star, but Warner Bros. continued to put her in lots of movies for the next couple of years! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster was never folded. It had darkened, typical of Warner Bros. "linen" half-sheets and inserts of this period (they were printed on a paper with a linen-like texture). It had a 12" vertical tear 3" from the left edge of the poster, starting in the top border and then curving to the left border. The entire left blank border was missing, as was a portion of the left 5" of the top blank border, and a small part of the red background area. There was some paper loss in the lower left border in the green background area and some tears and small paper loss around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Note that the restorer who mounted the poster did not leave any excess linen around the edges of the poster. Learn More about condition grades
