An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Glass Slide (measures approximately 3" x 4" [8 x 10 cm]) (Learn More) The Lone Chance, the 1924 Howard M. Mitchell silent romantic murder mystery mistaken identity melodrama ("Story by Fred Jackson"; a complicated story in which Gilbert falls in love with a mysterious woman and while searching for her, meets a politician who offers him a deal; it seems the governor's daughter has murdered a man, and if Gilbert will take the blame, the governor will pardon him after a year and pay him a lot of money; after the year, the governor refuses to pardon him, and he escapes from prison, and clears himself and finds the mysterious girl, who is about to marry the politician) starring John Gilbert, Evelyn Brent, John Miljan, Edwin B. Tilton, and Harry Todd. Note that this was John Gilbert's last movie for Fox before he began his major rise and fall at MGM. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that glass slides were designed to be put in a special projector that would project the image onto a movie screen (they use exactly the same concept as 35mm slides). We have taken a digital photo of each that shows the general condition of the overall slide and holder, and we have also made a digital scan that shows the glass image well, but does not show the holder (except as a dark outline). Condition: very good to fine. The theater that used this slide wrote the days the movie was playing in the play dates section at the bottom of the glass. Otherwise, the glass slide itself is in nice condition and the cardboard holder has some minor smudges (as can be seen in our super-sized images). Learn More about condition grades
