eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 6x449 BLACK ALLEYCATS pressbook '73 bad black chicks so cuddly by day, so deadly by night! Date Sold 5/8/2016Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Pressbook (pb; measures 11" x 17 1/4" [28 x 44 cm]; 4 pages) (Learn More) The Black Alleycats (released in Germany as "Black Cats"), the 1973 Henning Schellerup African American blaxploitation sexploitation kung fu martial arts rape revenge action thriller ("So cuddly by day... So deadly by night!!"; about four teen girls who want to even the score after they are attacked and raped by a street gang, so they take kung fu and shooting lessons, and form their own gang, and seek out the gang that attacked them and overcome them and strip and humiliate them; oddly, the plot is mostly wrapped up quickly and then the rest of the movie is a standard sexploitation movie!) starring Sunshine Woods, Sandy Dempsey, Charlene Miles, Johnny Rhodes, Marsha Jordan ("as Mrs. Kincade"), Uschi Digard (uncredited, as "Party Girl in Black"), Ave Crawford, and Betty Mitchell. Note that the movie is called "The Black Alleycats" in spite of the fact that half of the lead girls are white and half are black! Perhaps this was to make it seem more like a blaxploitation movie, because that genre was so popular at this time. Also note that all the advertising we have seen has the title as "The Black Alleycats", but the IMDb has the movie as "The Black Alley Cats" and we feel they are simply wrong. Finally, note that we have auctioned a one-sheet that had a snipe over the title that reads "The Sexy Alleycats", so we know it was released under that title in at least one theater! Important Added Info: Note that we have provided an image of the front and back covers of this pressbook (if the back cover is not the poster page, we photographed the interior poster page), and of course, the winner of this auction will receive the entire single pressbook we are auctioning (plus any supplements or heralds described above)! Also note that this pressbook is complete and uncut! Given that theater owners purchased pressbooks partly in order to create their newspaper advertising, and quite frequently cut them up for that purpose, it is rare to find a pressbook that IS complete and uncut! Condition: very good to fine, NO CUTS. The pressbook is complete and uncut. It is folded across the middle, but otherwise, it is in pretty nice condition! Learn More about condition grades
