Date Sold 11/13/2016 Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. 9 Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10" [20 x 25 cm] Movie Stills (Learn More) Messiah of Evil, the 1974 Willard Huyck horror thriller ("Terror you won't want to remember - In a film you won't be able to forget."; "From the makers of 'American Graffiti'..."; "In order to live, they will take you one by one...and no one will hear you scream!"; "Written, Produced and Directed by Gloria Katz & Willard Huyck") starring Michael Greer, Marianna Hill, Joy Bang, Anitra Ford, Royal Dano, and Elisha Cook. Note that this movie was initially filmed in 1971 but different sources list different first release years. IMDB says 1973 but we have found a December 8, 1974 newspaper from Paris, Texas that promoted the "world premiere" of the movie on December 11th, and then the film had a wider release throughout 1975 based on other newspaper ads. Multiple sources state that the release delay was caused by concerned investors, and the film was finally edited without Huyck's input and released to theaters. A knowledgeable collector tells us that the best modern home media of this film is the Code Red DVD/Blu-Rays made with the approval of Huyck & Katz (who also provide commentary).
