An Original Vintage Theatrical Folded Argentinean Movie Poster (measures 14 1/2" x 29" [37 x 74 cm]) (Learn More) Plastered in Paris, the 1928 Benjamin Stoloff military romantic comedy ("An uproarious laugh fest among the sculptors and models of Gay Paree"; "Story by Henry Brand and Andy Rice"; about a Jewish man and a Swedish man, who accidentally enlist in the French Foreign Legion, and they have many misadventures) starring Sammy Cohen, Jack Pennick, Ivan Linow, Lola Salvi, Hugh Allan, and Marion Byron. Note that if you have never seen this movie, you shouldn't wait to see it play on TV, because it is filled with the most awful politically incorrect stereotypes possible! Jewish Sammy Cohen plays Sammy Nosenblum (get the "joke"?), and Jack Pennick plays Bud Swenson, and the movie is filled with Jewish and Swedish jokes, especially ones about Sammy Cohen's big nose. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is one of a remarkable find of 143 Argentinean posters from 1926 to 1929 that were recently discovered! They all measure approximately 14 1/4" x 28 1/4", which was one of the two main sizes created for Argentinean movie posters at that time (the other was a poster that measured 29" x 43"). It is likely that prior to this amazing find, there were only a small number of these posters known to exist in the entire world, and after these 143 are auctioned, it is unlikely that there will be many more discovered, even over the coming decades! This is a rare opportunity to purchase an Argentinean poster from the late 1920s, a time when virtually no movie posters from any country are known to exist! Note that this poster was folded at one time but has been laying flat for a long time and will be sent rolled in a tube. Condition: good to very good. There are a few minor patches of slight discoloration scattered in various areas (more so along the foldlines), typical of Argentinean posters of this time period. Learn More about condition grades
