An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 14" x 22" [36 x 56 cm]) (Learn More) You and Me, the 1938 Fritz Lang romantic crime comedy ("The romance of two young ex-convicts!"; "Based on a Story by Norman Krasna"; about two young ex-convicts who meet and fall in love and get married; the woman knows that the man was also a convict, but he does not know that about her; both get jobs at a department store owned by kindly Harry Carey Sr., and they need to keep their marriage secret as well as their criminal past, but then some of the man's old cronies show up and want him to rob the department store, and it is up to his wife to stop them from ruining their life) starring Sylvia Sidney, George Raft, Barton MacLane, Harry Carey Sr., Roscoe Karns, and Robert Cummings. Note that this was Fritz Lang's third U.S. movie after making the ultra depressing "Fury" and "You Only Live Twice", and he tried to change the tone of his movies by making this somewhat of a comedy, but it doesn't really succeed on that level, but it is a very interesting movie about people caught up in situations they can't control. Often window cards would be folded across the middle, because that would make them 11" x 14", and they could then be sent with standard folded posters. Most collectors put an added value on a window card that has never been folded. Condition: fair. There is much staining scattered in the bottom half of the card, including in both stars' faces. There is some similar staining scattered in the top half of the card, but a much lesser amount. A talented restorer could restore the above defects and after proper restoration, the card would look fantastic (and it is quite possible that some or all of the staining can be removed through chemical means, and if so, this card can be restored without a lot of paint restoration), but please do not bid on this poster unless you can accept its defects described above or are willing to pay to have them properly restored!
