What IS linenbacking? Learn More Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had some tiny bits of paper loss on the horizontal fold and minor wear on the vertical fold. It had some faint brown stains in the bottom right corner and some scattered around the edges of the poster and in the top background area, with a few in the white area between the two black areas at upper left. Overall, the poster was in good to very good condition prior to linenbacking. The restorer backed the poster "in the European style", meaning that they did little restoration to the defects described above. One could certainly display this incredibly rare poster as it is, or one might choose to have restoration performed either with or without re-backing the poster.
