An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10 1/4" [20 x 26 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Pola Negri was a Polish actress from the 1910s to the 1960s. She had been a major star in the 1920s, but when her career began winding down in the late 1930s, she went to Europe and made five movies (including the memorable "Mazurka", which was a remake of "Millie", which was later remade as "Confession") before basically retiring. Some of her other movies include: Barbed Wire, The Love Goddesses, Shadows of Paris, Bella Donna, and Hi Diddle Diddle. She passed away in 1987 at the age of 90. Important Added Info: Note that this still was created in 1945, when "A Thousand and One Nights" was playing, but Pola Negri was not in that movie (she was in a movie that was based on the same story, and they apparently made this still to show that connection). Note that this still has a FACSIMILE autograph that is within the printing of the still (the still has NOT been personally autographed). Also note that this still measures 8" x 10 1/4" [20 x 26 cm]. Note that this still likely has a stamp on the back in the form of a diamond that has the letters "TRR". One certainly might wonder who placed this stamp there and why. The answer is that 160 of the stills in this set of auctions come to us from a still collector who has collected for many decades, and long ago he began stamping the back of almost his stills with this stamp, and "TRR" is his initials! Each of those stills is stamped lightly, and the stamp does NOT affect the front of the still. He is a VERY advanced collector, and he has consigned many wonderful stills to us!
