An Original Vintage Tri-Folded Billboard Advertising Poster (measures approximately 9' x 20') (Learn More) Gulf Oil was a major global oil company from 1901 to 1985. It was founded in Pittsburg, Pennsylvania by the Mellon Family and was considered one of the so-called Seven Sisters oil companies prior to it's merger with Standard Oil of California. Like many other oil companies, they branched out into automotive services such as tires and service stations, but they also produced home products such as household pesticides. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare poster. We have never auctioned one in all our years of auctioning! Note also that this billboard poster was printed in 12 sections designed to overlap. Also note that this poster was tri-folded only (which means there is no vertical machine fold) but because it would be more expensive to send flat, it will be sent rolled in a tube. Note that this item needs to be shipped in a box, which might be a fairly small box, or might be a very large box. What is important for the bidders to know is that this item very likely CAN'T be combined with other purchases, because there would not be much savings if any, because this item will be in a box with substantial depth (because the item is "three-dimensional"), while other purchases will be in a flat package, and trying to combine them would likely damage this item. If you purchase multiple items like this (ones that need to be packed in a box), then they likely can be combined with each other (unless the resulting box is simply too large). So please bear in mind that this item likely must be sent separately in a box (the size and depth of the box will depend on the size of the item), and bear this added expense in mind before placing a bid on it (so if you would pay $150 for the item, but the shipping is likely $100, then only bid $50 for the item). Condition: fair. As can be seen in our image the poster is in much lesser condition. The billboard was exposed to moisture at one time which has caused substantial water staining and deterioration and paper loss along the foldlines and edges (see our image). It is in urgent need of restoration but please bear in mind the cost of restoration (especially given its very large size). Learn More about condition grades
