An Original Vintage Theatrical Linenbacked International One-Sheet Movie Poster (1sh; measures 27" x 41" [69 x 104 cm]) (Learn More) Manster (also released as "The Split"), the 1959 (released in the U.S. in 1962) George P. Breakston & Kenneth G. Crane U.S./Japanese science fiction (sci-fi) horror thriller ("Mature Horror Show!"; "A ghastly elegance that suggests Tennessee Williams!"; "See the two-headed killer creature!"; "The terror that split a man in two... half human, half monster!"; "Before your started eyes... man changes to monster! Once normal man actually splits in two ...half human, half inhuman, in the laboratory of the damned... in which women are brutalized by the monster-born-of-man!") starring Peter Dyneley, Jane Hylton, Satoshi Nakamura, Terri Zimmern, Norman van Hawley, Toyoko Takechi, Jerry Ito, and Tetsu Nakamura. Note that this is a very confusing movie! It seems likely that it was released in the U.S. initially solely as half of a double bill with "Eyes Without a Face", and it was titled "Manster" for that U.S. double bill release. But it appears that it also received an international release under the title "The Split". The double-bill is from United Artists/Lopert, and the international one-sheet is from United Artists only, so it would seem that United Artists had the sole international distribution rights. The only one-sheet we have seen that is not international (with "The Split" title) is a military one-sheet, which had the "Manster" title. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Overall Condition and Pre-Restoration Defects with Quality of Restoration: good to very good. The poster had creases and tiny bits of surface paper loss on parts of most folds, with pinholes and stains around the edges. Overall, the poster was in good condition prior to linenbacking. The poster was pretty well backed, but you can see signs of the above defects and the restoration of the above defects. Learn More about condition grades
