An Original Vintage Movie Script (measures 8 1/2" x 11" [22 x 28 cm], 131 pages) (Learn More) Island In the Sky, the 1953 William A. Wellman World War II (WWII) military airplane aviation crash landing survival action thriller ("He fought every fury of man and mountain to get where his woman was!"; "With All the White Hell of the Wasteland Against Him Dooley Was Beating His Way Back!"; "From the blood-racing adventure best-seller by Ernest K. Gann"; "He's beating his way back from the white hell of the wastelands to where his woman is! He's taking on all the fury of man and mountain -- Dooley, a man born to adventure in the adventure of his life!"; about a military plane that crash lands in Labrador and John Wayne must lead them into safety; based on a true story) starring John Wayne, Lloyd Nolan, Walter Abel, James Arness, Andy Devine, Jimmy Lydon (billed as "James Lydon"), and Phyllis Winger NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this script is the revised draft from January 12, 1953 and the screenplay was written by Ernest K. Gann. Note that this script was the personal property of actor Tom Irish, who played "Dusty Martin", who was credited in this script, but ended up uncredited when the movie was finished, and this is his personal script, and his name is written on the cover. He wrote his name next to his character's name on the "cast list" page, and he also wrote in "Wayne's", "Arness'", and "Devine's" next to their character names. He apparently had a LOT of "downtime" while the movie was being made, because there are a bunch of pages in the script where he drew pictures on the facing blank page (and he was actually a pretty decent artist!; see our images). He also drew an image of a girl's rear end on the last blank page, writing "END" above it! Condition: very good. There is a stain on the cover. There are many pictures drawn in on blank pages, but those were drawn by Tom Irish, the actor who owned this script (see above). Learn More about condition grades
