Chicago, the 1927 Frank Urson silent Illinois female convict crime comedy ("From the play by Maurine Watkins. Produced upon the stage by Same H. Harris") starring Phyllis Haver (as Roxie Hart), Victor Varconi (as Amos Hart), Virginia Bradford, Robert Edeson (as William Flynn), Julia Faye, May Robson, and T. Roy Barnes. Note that the fictional character Roxie Hart first appeared in the 1926 play Chicago, followed by this 1927 film, followed by the 1942 film Roxie Hart starring Ginger Rogers, which was followed by a 1975 Broadway production, which was followed by the 2002 film Chicago with Renee Zellweger as Roxie.

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that we have never before auctioned this half-sheet! Not only that, but we have never auctioned any U.S. posters from this movie, only three lobby cards and some stills, before we were consigned this poster! Note also that this poster could conceivably be rolled in a tube, but because it is old and somewhat fragile, we intend to send it in a large flat package, and will only send it rolled if the new owner accepts responsibility if it is damaged from being rolled. Please bear this in mind before placing your bid on this rare poster.

Condition: fair. The poster is in lesser condition. It has creases, smudges and scuff marks scattered throughout and it was folded in half diagonally at center. There are many creases, defects, areas of paper loss and tears of varying lengths along parts of some edges and someone performed much amateur restoration to the defects (especially at upper left and lower right where the paper loss was attempted to be replaced with paper from another poster and paint). Please see our super-sized image to get a good sense of the condition of this item prior to placing a bid and please do not bid unless you can accept the defects described above.
