An Original 1948 (from the first release of this movie in Spain) Vintage Theatrical Spanish Movie Herald (measures 3 1/2" x 5 1/4" [9 x 13 cm]; 2pg) (Learn More) John Ford's My Darling Clementine, the classic 1946 John Ford Tombstone Arizona romantic cowboy western (based on a story by Sam Hellman from the book 'Wyatt Earp, Frontier Marshal' by Stuart N. Lake; about the legendary showdown between the Earp Brothers and the Clantons in Tombstone, including the gunfight at the OK Corral) starring Henry Fonda (as Wyatt Earp), Linda Darnell (as Chihuahua), Victor Mature (as Doc Holliday), Walter Brennan (as "Old Man Clanton"), Tim Holt (as Virgil Earp), Cathy Downs (in the title role, as Clementine Carter), John Ireland (as Billy Clanton), Ward Bond (as Morgan Earp), Alan Mowbray, Roy Roberts, Jane Darwell, Grant Withers, J. Farrell MacDonald, and Russell Simpson. Note that 20th Century-Fox was apparently uneasy about spending so much money on a western, and to hedge their bets, they strongly pushed sexy Linda Darnell in the title role, and they even made a teaser 24-sheet, which solely showed sexy Linda Darnell, and which had the tagline "Men are lost and gone forever when they go for Clementine!". Important Added Info: Note that when Spanish heralds have printing on the back, we picture both sides, but when they are blank on the back, we only picture the front. Please note that Spanish heralds, like U.S. heralds, were printed in very large quantities, and then sent to individual theaters in Spain, and they would sometimes have the backs of them overprinted with their theater name and specific play dates. But because a movie might play in Spain for a period of a year or two (traveling from theater to theater), there is no guarantee that the date overprinted on the back of the herald is the same as the date that the herald was first printed (and the date that the movie first played in Spain). Therefore, we don't list the date overprinted on the back of a herald as the date of the herald unless we know that was when the movie first played in Spain. If we believe the herald was printed earlier, then we use that date. If it is important to you that the date on the herald is the date the movie first opened, then please look at our image of the back of this herald to see if there is a different date printed on it.
