An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More) Resurrection, the 1927 Edwin Carewe silent Russia romantic crime epic melodrama (based on the novel "by Count Leo Tolstoy"; about a country girl being seduced and then abandoned by a prince, who then discovers later that she committed murder because of what he did to her; she is sentenced to Siberia, and he realizes that her life turned out as it did because of him, so he follows her to Siberia) starring Rod La Rocque, Dolores Del Rio, Marc MacDermott, Rita Carewe, and Lucy Beaumont. Note that this classic novel by Tolstoy had been filmed three times before this in the U.S., and was filmed again in 1931 and in 1934! Also note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that while this poster theoretically COULD be rolled in a tube, we would strongly advise against it, because doing so might cause it to become creased or cracked. We will sent it to the new owner in a large flat package, unless they insist on us rolling it (and then it would not be returnable). Condition: good to very good. The poster has many smudges, stains, and dot stains around the edges, and a much lesser number scattered in the image. It has tiny paper loss in the top left blank corner. It was once attached to a mat with three pieces of conservation tape on the back of the top left, right, and middle of the poster (but they were not put there for a restoration purpose, and the poster has never had any restoration). I would think just about every collector would be happy to display this wonderful half-sheet just as it is (because the defects are not very distracting, and they establish that it is an 87 year-old poster), or certainly, any talented restorer could paperback it, and restore the defects it has.
