An Autographed Contract (measures 8 1/2" x 11"; 21 pages) (Learn More) Gale Robbins was an actress and singer from the 1940s to the 1960s. She was the lead singer with Ben Bernie's band, and she performed solo at the Copacabana Club in New York City before being signed to a contract by Warner Bros. Some of her film roles include: Calamity Jane, The Barkeleys of Broadway, and My Dear Secretary. She passed away in 1980 at the age of 58. Important Added Info: Note that this item has been personally autographed (signed) by Gale Robbins! Note that this great contract required that Robbins sign both with her "true name" and with her "professional name", and since Robbins' "true name" was Betty Gale Robbins, she signed it that way on that line, and as "Gale Robbins" as her professional name. In addition, there was an embarrassing typo on the first page of the contract, where he name was typed as "GAIL ROBBINS", and she signed "Gale Robbins" under it and initialed it, so the contract contains three different signatures from Miss Robbins! Finally, note that this contract was to acknowledge her rights to appear in other projects while filming My Girl Tisa. "U.S. Pictures" was hiring her for 26 weeks, and because she was a singer and entertainer, it was left open how often she would appear and where during those 26 weeks. Note that we have photographed the cover and the first page of the contract, as well as the page with the signatures. We also photographed one other page, because that page had changes that the star initialed (see our images). We did not photograph the remaining pages, but you can see above how many pages there are in all. Note that our consignor has been a memorabilia dealer for the past 30 years, and he tells us that he is certain this autograph is authentic. In some cases he obtained the autographs in person, and in other cases (like with contracts and agreements), it is obvious the signatures are authentic, but he vouches for the authenticity of every item that he has consigned to us, and we also feel certain that the autographs are authentic.
