Date Sold 9/6/2011Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Japanese Two-Panel "STB" or "Tatekan" Movie Poster (2p; measures 20" x 57") (Learn More) La Donna nel Mondo (released in the U.S. as "Women of the World"), the 1963 Gualtiero Jacopetti, Paolo Cavara, & Franco Prosperi Italian sexploitation documentary ("Unbelievable! Incredible! - Yet every living scene is real!"; "The camera strips woman right down to her skin... Lays bare the secrets of her mind and body! See all the things never before known... And never before shown about... Women of the World"; "SEE: The notorious 'window girls' of Hamburg! The 'children of the night' in Hong Kong! The fabulous pearl-diving women of Japan! The warrior-women of the South Pacific! 'The Hitch-hike to heaven' to Sweden's beaches! The only island in the world where clothing is forbidden! Women in the agony and ecstasy of actual childbirth in Switzerland! Sex rituals of the primitive women of Borneo and Africa!"; "Like nothing you've seen before! As revealed by the makers of 'Mondo Cane'"; a sort of "Mondo Cane" focusing on unusual and sexy women the world over; "For the first time the screen dares to look beneath the make-up... behind the fancy clothes... into the most primitive, the most private affairs of women!"; "you have never seen anything in the world like Women of the World"; "Every incredible scene is real") featuring Peter Ustinov (as the narrator; "As viewed by Peter Ustinov"). Apparently, there was difficulty in getting the three directors to agree on their billing! Gualtiero Jacopetti is billed first, and then the other two directors have, before their names, "(in alphabetical order)", apparently to let those viewing the poster know that Pablo Cavara only came before Franco Prosperi because his name is earlier in the alphabet! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this Japanese two-panel poster was printed in 2 sections (designed to overlap) and when combined, the poster measures approximately 20" x 57". Also note that this poster was somewhat tri-folded. What does that mean? Some posters were stored in a tri-folded fashion, but where someone took a group of posters and then tri-folded the entire group. This means that many of the posters have only a slight "waviness" one third of the way from the top and the bottom of the poster, but they are not actual folds. They are normally not very noticeable at all from the front of the poster, but they can be seen from the back of the poster, and they mean that the poster does not lay 100% flat. These "waves" greatly diminish if the poster is put under weight for a time, and become almost completely invisible. Most collectors consider them a very minor defect, much less of a defect than actual foldlines. Also note that this poster will be shipped rolled in a tube. Condition: very good to fine.
