Date Sold 4/14/2019Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Style A Window Card Movie Poster (WC; measures 14" x 18" [36 x 46 cm]) (Learn More) Into Little America: Capitol of the Unknown (also released simply as "Little America"), the 1935 Frances March & Ewing Scott Antarctica penguin South Pole adventure documentary ("Rear Admiral Richard E. Byrd's second great Antarctic expedition into 'Little America' Capitol of the Unknown"). Note that in 1930 Robert J. Flaherty & F.W. Murnau created a documentary called "With Byrd at the South Pole" and it was released by Paramount pictures. This movie was created 5 years later and was clearly a sequel to the first film, but this movie was directed by Frances March & Ewing Scott and documented Byrd's second trip to the South Pole in 1934 and it was also released by Paramount Pictures. Note that the posters for this movie have a very large "Little America" on them with a tiny "into" above it, so it is often incorrectly referred to as "Little America" (we have been guilty of this in the past!). If you have any other information for this movie, please e-mail us and we will post it here. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is not the regular window card for this movie (which we have auctioned before). This one was created when the legendary explorer appeared in person at a showing of the movie and gave a talk! Note also that this poster has been trimmed and it now measures 14" x 18" [36 x 46 cm]. Also note that this window card was never folded. Often window cards would be folded across the middle, because that would make them 11" x 14", and they could then be sent with standard folded posters. Most collectors put an added value on a window card that has never been folded. Condition: good. There is tiny paper loss in two corners and small paper loss in a third corner and pinholes in the fourth corner. There is a 5" semi-circular tear in the lower right that has two small pieces of tape on the back of it. Learn More about condition grades
