Date Sold 8/15/2019Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical 8" x 10 1/4" [20 x 26 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Day Dreams, the 1922 Buster Keaton & Edward F. Cline silent romantic fantasy comedy short (written in part by Roscoe 'Fatty' Arbuckle!; about a young man who loves a girl, but her father wants him to first make a success of himself before he can marry her, and he goes to the city to get a good job; he writes to his girl that he works in a hospital, and she daydreams that he is a surgeon, but actually, he is a helper to a veterinarian; in the next letter, he says he has gotten a new job on Wall Street "cleaning up", but he is only a sanitation worker; then he writes that he is on the stage, and she dreams of him being the lead actor in Shakespeare's Hamlet, but he is only an extra; finally, he says the police are following his every move, and she dreams he is a police captain, but actually, he is wanted by the police, and there is a slapstick scene with 100 cops chasing Buster!) starring Buster Keaton, Renee Adoree, Edward F. Cline, Joe Keaton (Buster Keaton's father!), Joe Roberts, and George Rowe. Note that only parts of this movie survive, and no complete print, which is a real shame! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this still has a still code that begins with "KN", which we have seen on other Keaton shorts from this time period. We don't know if the "KN" means that this great still is from the first release of this movie or from an early re-release (or possibly an early compilation of Keaton shorts). We are identifying this still as being from 1922, but we can't say that for certain, so PLEASE do not bid on this still unless you can accept the possibility that it might not be from 1922 (although it is surely from 1922 or soon after). If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Also note that first release 1922 movie paper from this movie is incredibly rare. We had only previously previously auctioned a Swedish from this movie (20 years ago!), and nothing else, until we received this still! Condition: good to very good. Learn More about condition grades
