An Original Vintage Theatrical Autographed Deluxe 7" x 9" [18 x 23 cm] Movie Still (Learn More) Charles Murray (sometimes billed as "Charlie Murray") was one of the pioneer actors of early motion pictures. He began acting in 1912 and appeared in 282 movies altogether, 172 of them from before 1920. He was 40 years old when he began acting, and he often played middle-aged man roles (and progressed to old man roles as he aged). He played the title role in the 1925 version of "The Wizard of Oz", and he appeared in the "Cohens & Kellys" series of movies. In the 1910s, he was one of Triangle Keystone's foremost stars, and they created a stone litho artwork personality poster to promote movies in which he appeared. Murray passed away in 1941 at the age of 69. Important Added Info: Note that this still has been personally autographed (signed) by Charles Murray (the still is from 1919, but it was signed in 1937)! Our consignor is a very longtime collector of movie paper who purchased this item years ago, and it was signed, but he doesn't know how the signature was obtained, and he (and we) believe it is very likely that the autograph is authentic. Also note that this still has been trimmed and it now measures 7" x 9" [18 x 23 cm]. Finally, note that this is a deluxe still printed on double weight paper stock. Condition: good. The still was neatly trimmed around the edges. There are also faint smudges and scuffs scattered throughout. Learn More about condition grades
