An Original Vintage Linenbacked Circus Poster (measures 27 3/4" x 41 1/4" [70 x 105 cm]) (Learn More)

Ringling Bros & Barnum & Bailey Combined Circus, the 1937 circus poster ("The marvelous Naitto Troupe in astounding new feats never before seen on this continent") featuring art of a family of Chinese tightrope performers. The Naitto Troupe was able to perform tightrope tricks that had never been done before, including having the male performer holding his sister on his head upside down, and having her do back flips while standing on his shoulders, all while on a tightrope! Note that the artist of this poster seems to have taken artistic license to not have the Naitto Troupe appear Chinese, perhaps because of prejudices at this time, but that is solely a guess. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
