Important Added Info: Note that virtually NO posters survive from Japan before World War II! Likely this is because of paper shortages during the war, similar to what existed in several European countries. Finding ANY pre-World War II Japanese posters is extremely rare; to find one from a major movie like this one is even more rare! It is interesting to note that the director credit and the title are written in English, and there is also Japanese writing on the poster as well (the few other pre-World War II Japanese posters we have seen also have some English writing), but it is nice to have the title and the credits on the poster in English! The poster may have been a somewhat larger size, but without comparing it to another example, it is impossible to say. It was once mounted to a brown paper that also had some Japanese newspaper clippings glued onto it. Someone removed much of the newspaper and brown paper, but a fair amount of it still remains. The poster can be rolled and sent in a tube.

Condition: good. It is impossible to say if the poster had any portion of it trimmed, but if it did, it would seem to be at the top, because the left, right, and bottom areas seem untrimmed (unless they had a slightly wider blank border). The poster was folded across the middle. As noted above, it was mounted to something that was partially removed. There are some small areas of paper loss in the top of the poster and small paper loss in the upper right border. There is some surface paper loss and tiny paper loss in Fairbanks' credit and in the background to the left of his waist. There are some pinholes around the edges and a few within the image. If I owned this ultra rare poster, I would surely have it professionally restored, and after proper restoration, it will look fantastic!
