Ruth Wood was too innocent to know how much of a chance she was taking - too lonely to care... everybody said she was being foolish - everybody but her heart!"; "You will see a picture of very, very special greatness!"; "'You don't know much about men, do you Ruth?'"; "A lonely girl, a soldier and their street-corner pick-up date! -- this is the way it begins -- to change a girl's life -- and bring to yours a new excitement, a very rare glow!"; "A picture of very special greatness!"; "The lonely girl and the soldier - a street corner pick-up that worked a miracle of love - and changed the lives of so many!"; "The Sin-Street bomb-shell"; "The booze-playing pianist"; "The 'tired' business man and the not-so-private secretary"; "The lonely spinster"; "Novel and Screen Play by Ben Hecht") starring Jane Wyman (as Ruth Wood), Van Johnson, Peggie Castle, Fred Clark, Alan King, Eileen Heckart, and Josephine Hutchinson NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that these stills appear in every way to be original U.S. release EXCEPT that there is one very tiny line of French type in the lower right of each still. It reads, "IMPRIME AUX ETATS-UNIS D'AMERIQUE". A collector has told us that he believes this means the stills were printed for use in areas that included French-speaking parts of Canada, but that they WERE printed in the U.S., and that makes complete sense to us (and we have seen this on stills from the 1940s through the early 2000s, so it has certainly been done for an extremely long time)! So they are original stills from 1956, but they were printed partially for use in French-speaking Canada. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here.
