An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More) The Female, the 1924 Sam Wood silent South Africa/England adoption romantic love triangle melodrama ("From the Cynthia Stocklet Story 'Dalla, The Lion Cub'"; about a pretty South African orphan who is adopted by a wealthy man, and when she matures, he invites her to England, where he marries her, and when her husband is murdered, she is accused of the crime, because she had a boyfriend on the side!) starring Betty Compson, Warner Baxter, Noah Beery Sr., Dorothy Cumming, and Freeman Wood. Note that Warner Baxter was born in 1889, and in the early 1920s he rose to prominence in silent movies, becoming a major star of the 1920s, while he was in his 30s. He won the Oscar for Best Actor as The Cisco Kid in "In Old Arizona" in 1929, and he remained a top star throughout the 1930s! Also, note that this is a "lost" film which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Some pre-1970 half-sheet posters were folded twice horizontally at the poster exchange, while some were not. It can be difficult to find an unfolded example of many pre-1970 half-sheet posters (note that most post-1970 half-sheets were NOT folded, so they are pretty much only found unfolded, and therefore this does not apply to those half-sheets).
