eMoviePoster.comAuction History Result 1x039 THUNDERBOLT LC '35 close up of heroic canine Lobo the Marvel Dog hugging young boy! Date Sold 4/28/2011Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Thunderbolt, the 1935 Stuart Paton canine German Shepherd dog cowboy western ("The story of a heroic dog and a loyal boy!"; "Original story and screenplay by Jack T.O. Gevne"; about an orphan boy who becomes friends with a prospector and his police dog Thunderbolt, and the dog rescues him from both a burning cabin and the outlaws who killed his father) starring Lobo (billed as "the Marvel Dog"), Kane Richmond, Bobby Nelson, Fay McKenzie, Barney Furey, Lafe McKee, Robert McKenzie, and Frank Hagney. Note that a very long time collector of posters like these tells us that he has the pressbook for this movie, and that, while the one-sheet credits Regal Productions at bottom center, that company is not listed in the pressbook, and he does not know exactly why that would be, and neither do we. If anyone knows more about this, please e-mail us and we will post it here. Also note that Lobo the Marvel Dog first appeared in 1935's "Guard That Girl" and this was the only other movie he appeared in! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Condition: good to very good. There is ink staining on the back of the bottom right of the card (there is faint bleed-through down the right blank border and in the right of the bottom blank border), and it has slightly rippled the card in that area (but it is more felt than seen). There is paper loss in two blank corners and a tiny tear in the lower left blank border. Note that this lobby card is completely unrestored and there is not a single piece of tape on either the front or back of the card! Learn More about condition grades
