He is best known for playing the Scarecrow in The Wizard of Oz (he was not intended to play that part, but after Buddy Ebsen could not play the Tin Man, Jack Haley switched from the Scarecrow to the Tin Man, and Bolger was hired). Bolger appeared in many musical comedies, and played the title role in Where's Charley? AND Eddie 'Rochester' Anderson was a black African American actor from the 1930s to the 1970s. Some of his movies include: Gone with the Wind, It's a Mad Mad Mad Mad World, and You Can't Take It with You. He is best remembered for his long association with Jack Benny in his radio show, TV show, and movies, where he played himself. Important Added Info: This cut album page has been personally autographed (signed) by BOTH Ray Bolder AND Eddie 'Rochester' Anderson (each star signed on a different side; see our images of both sides)! Our consignor purchased a collection of autographs that were obtained by a bartender at Club 21 in New York City named "Pat", and they were obtained starting in the 1940s. He did not receive a certificate of authenticity, but we have examined the signatures, and we feel sure they are authentic (and most of the ones from this collection are personalized "To Pat"). It could be matted with a vintage or repro still and framed together to make a cool display (but of course, you would have to choose which signature to display)! Condition: very good.
