An Original Vintage 7 1/4" x 9 1/2" [18 x 24 cm] News Photo (Learn More) Mary Pickford was a Canadian actress from the 1900s to the 1930s. She was one of the top silent actresses, who specialized in playing young girl roles as an adult, and she was called "America's Sweetheart", and when she married Douglas Fairbanks, Sr. in 1920, the country rejoiced (and the country mourned when they divorced in 1936!). Some of her movies include: Little Annie Rooney (in the title role), Sparrows, My Best Girl, Coquette (winner of the Best Actress Academy Award for this film; in the title role), and Tess of the Storm Country. She passed away in 1979 at the age of 87. Important Added Info: Note that Mary Pickford had her own private miniature golf course, and in 1930, she opened it to the public on August 29. This was a publicity photo for it. There is a note on the back from the publicist stating that they did not have a posed photo of her on the golf course, so they created this composite photo by combining an image of her putting with an image of a miniature golf hole! Also note that this news photo measures 7 1/4" x 9 1/2" [18 x 24 cm]. Condition: good. The still was used in a magazine or newspaper, and there is white touch up paint in the entire area surrounding Miss Pickford's head and shoulders, plus an outline of the rest of her body with a few more areas in the background. There are some dots of discoloration scattered in the bottom of the still. It is lightly rippled due to the snipe on the back. Learn More about condition grades
