An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 22" x 28" [56 x 71 cm]) (Learn More) Little Miss Thoroughbred, the 1938 John Farrow adorable juvenile horse racing gambling melodrama ("From the story by Albert Demond"; about an orphan girl who wants a gambler to adopt her) starring John Litel, Ann Sheridan, Frank McHugh, Janet Chapman (in the title role), and Eric Stanley. Note that Janet Chapman was six years old and she got a big break with the lead part in this movie. But her career never really took off, and after appearing in 15 movies, mostly in tiny roles as children, she retired at the age of 14. NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know. Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare poster. We have never auctioned one in all our years of auctioning! This poster was never folded and it is fragile enough that it absolutely should not be rolled or attempted to be rolled. Therefore, it needs to be sent in a very large flat package that measures approximately 24" x 30". Please bear this added shipping expense in mind before bidding on this poster. Note that this item needs to be shipped in an oversized flat package. Most of these items absolutely can only be sent in flat packages, and could not possibly be rolled into a tube. Some of them might SEEM like they could be rolled in a tube, like a half-sheet, but they can't. The reason these items are in this auction is specifically because they CAN'T be rolled (because rolling any of them would damage them, even if they somehow can be rolled). So please bear in mind that this item must be sent in a LARGE flat package (the size of the package will depend on the size of the item when ready for shipping), and bear this added expense in mind before placing a bid on it. The poster has darkened somewhat (typical of Warner Brothers posters printed on a "linen" paper during this time period.) The poster has a 13" semi-circular tear that starts in the left borders and goes through Sheridan's cheek and eyebrow, just touching the edge of her eyelid.
