Date Sold 1/25/2011Sold For: Login or Register to see sold price. An Original Vintage Theatrical Movie Lobby Card (LC; measures 11" x 14" [28 x 36 cm]) (Learn More) Pack Up Your Troubles, the 1932 George Marshall & Ray McCarey World War I (WWI) military comedy (with dialogue written by H.M. Walker, and produced by Hal Roach; a clever story of the boys finding an orphan girl and wanting to find her relatives, but all they know is her name is "Smith", so they search through all the Smiths in the phone book) starring Stan Laurel, Oliver Hardy (Laurel and Hardy), Don Dillaway, Jackie Lyn Dufton (billed as "Jacqueline Taylor"), Mary Carr, and James Finlayson. Note that Mary Carr became a major star in the mid 1910s around the age of 40, playing the parts of saintly mothers. She continued to make movies (switching to grandmother roles) through the mid 1930s, and then continued with mostly uncredited parts until the mid 1950s. She passed away in 1973 at the age of 99! NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this lobby card (and nine others we are offering this week) were literally found in a barn, where they had been for the past 78 years! Each of the ten cards have MAJOR condition defects, so we have provided scans of both the front of the card and the back of the card, which allow you to clearly see exactly what condition the cards are in. We are not going to describe them, because you can see what is wrong with them from our images. Note that all of the cards have darkened to different degrees, and all of them are extremely fragile. But certainly, a talented restorer can paperback the card, and after proper restoration, the card will look nice, but it will surely be expensive to restore, and will have somewhat of a "restored" look after restoration, so bear all of this in mind before you place a bid on any of these cards! Condition: poor. The card has major condition issues . See our super-sized images of the front and back of the card to know exactly what is wrong with this card. Note that in the case of this card, there is a 2" x 2" area in the lower right border that was folded back for many years, so that portion did not receive the staining that the rest of the card did (see our image).
