A Set of 4 Special 1939 Art Prints (measure 13" x 15" [33 x 38 cm]) (Learn More) Walt Disney's Pinocchio, the classic 1940 Hamilton Luske & Ben Sharpsteen Walt Disney animated animation puppet cartoon musical fantasy adventure ("Hi-Diddle Dee Dee!"; "Full length feature production"; "Jiminy Cricket - what a show!"; "In Multiplane Technicolor") featuring the voices of Dickie Jones (in the title role as Pinocchio), Cliff Edwards (as Jiminy Cricket), Christian Rub (as Gepetto), Evelyn Venable (as the Blue Fairy), Mel Blanc, Walter Catlett (as J. Worthington Foulfellow), Frankie Darro (as Lampwick), and Charles Judels (as Stromboli) NOTE: Click on linked names to see a biography. Important Added Info: Note that this special set of 13" x 15" prints was sent to theaters in a set of 4, but there were two different sets created. One set was from the theater where the movie had its world premiere on 2/7/40, the Center Theatre, and that set came in a paper portfolio that snaps shut and inside is a 6" sleeve that gives all the information about the premiere, and there is an acetate overlay that protects the prints and has "Lithographs of original paintings used in the production of Pinocchio" printed on the acetate. The other was from regular theaters that showed the movie after its premiere, and that set came in a simple printed blue bag. Condition: good. Each of the prints was used to display something on the back (probably 8" x 10" stills), and someone used small pieces of scotch tape to attach the stills to the back of each one. Some of those small pieces of tape slightly bled through to the front in the blank white borders (a few of the pieces very slightly show through to the front of the borders of the image). There are some stains and smudges around the edges of the front of the borders and the image in the lower right corner has a 1" tear in the middle of the right border. Obviously, any professional restorer could greatly improve the appearance of these prints with restoration, but it is also true that most of the defects are in the blank borders, so they could be simply framed with a mat and enjoyed just as they are.
