a lot of 2 27x41 special posters from Beatles movies (Help! and Yellow Submarine). These two posters present a great mystery! They are made on some kind of heavy material that may be Plexiglas, or something very similar. The image is not printed onto it. It may be printed on the back or created in some other way, but we have never seen another poster like either of these! Since they are so similar, we would think that they surely were created at the same time, but exactly WHEN were they created? At first glance, they would surely appear to be from the first release of each of these movies, which was in 1965 and 1968. But if that is true, then they were not created at the same time. One important clue is that the Yellow Submarine has the correct United Artists/Transamerica logo that was used when that movie was first released in 1968, and that logo is not on the Help! poster, which is correct, because that logo was first introduced in 1968, and Help! came out in 1965. So while it is possible that the two posters are from 1965 and 1968, we think it is more likely that they were created in 1968, possibly when a theater showed Yellow Submarine together with the earlier Help! This is just a guess, but we don't see how these could be from a later theatrical release, because we don't think either of the movies had another theatrical release until at least the 1990s, and we have never seen posters anything like this except from the late 1960s and early 1970s. So obviously, there are clear uncertainties about these posters, and we make no guarantees as to exactly when they are from, so please do not bid on this lot unless you can accept these uncertainties, no matter what future information comes to light about either poster. We have never auctioned either poster before, or anything like them, and we can't find anyone who has! Certainly, the high bidder on this lot will have really rare Beatles posters that will look great on their wall, but also bear in mind the much greater shipping cost (see below for that).

The Beatles were a legendary English rock band from 1960 to 1970. With members John Lennon, Paul McCartney, George Harrison and Ringo Starr, they became widely regarded as the foremost and most influential act of the rock era. They are the best-selling band in history, with estimated sales of over 600 million records worldwide, and many consider them to be the greatest rock 'n' roll (rock and roll) music musicians of the 1960s, or perhaps ever! Some of their movies include: Help!, A Hard Day's Night, Let It Be, and Yellow Submarine.

Note that these posters must be shipped in an extremely large flat package that measures approximately 30" x 43" and will be around 2" high. Also note that the posters are extremely heavy, and the package will probably weigh 20 pounds or so. Please bear in mind the cost of sending this extremely large and heavy package before bidding, and if you live outside the U.S., do not bid on this lot.
Measurements: 27" x 41"

Condition: good to very good. Both of these Plexiglas-like posters were taped to backing boards with tape around the edges. The tape dried out over the years, and both posters separated from the backing boards, but the tape remains on the front of the borders of each poster (see our images). The original backing boards are still present and will be shipped to the winning bidder of this auction in case they want to have them.
