An Original Vintage Theatrical Unfolded Half-Sheet Movie Poster (1/2sh; measures 20" x 25" [51 x 64 cm]) (Learn More)

Madness of Youth, the 1923 Jerome Storm silent romantic crime thriller (from the story by George F. Worts; about a thief who robs the rich, but later chooses the straight and narrow path, with the help of a good woman) starring John Gilbert, Billie Dove, D.R.O. Hatswell, George K. Arthur, Wilton Taylor, Ruth Boyd, Luke Lucas, and Julanne Johnston. Note that this is a "lost" film, which means that no surviving copies are thought to exist.

If you know who did the art (if any), please let us know.
Important Added Info: Note that this is an extremely rare poster. We auctioned a half-sheet twenty seven years ago, and it might have been the same poster as this, but we don't have an image of it. We have auctioned two lobby cards for this movie, but we have never auctioned any other posters for it in all our years of auctioning! It is one of a collection of 25 silent half-sheets we are currently auctioning, in 25 separate auctions. Most of these are beyond rare, and many are likely "one of a kind"! This poster was never folded and it is fragile enough that it absolutely should not be rolled or attempted to be rolled. Therefore, it needs to be sent in a very large flat package that measures approximately 24" x 30". Please bear this added shipping expense in mind before bidding on this poster. Note finally that this poster has been trimmed and it now measures 20" x 25" [51 x 64 cm].

Condition: fair. The poster was never folded. It was trimmed on part of its blank borders and it now measures 20" x 25". It has tears and paper loss around the edges with surface paper loss in Gilbert's chin and a stain that runs from that to the right border with a few small stains in both faces and many small area of surface paper loss in a diagonal line in the bottom right (where likely a snipe was once removed). There are tears and tiny paper loss at to center, extending into Gilbert's hair (see our image).
